(Post/Psychedelic Rock)
Soma is the fourth album of My Sleeping Karma from Germany that released in 2012. As Germany has a tradition in psychedelic rock (see Krautrock), these guys are continuing the tradition well...At first, I have the impression that Soma is a concept album, it is well structured with interludes that are "breaking" the whole album into themes and leaves the impression of a play.
Moreover, all the songs are very melodic, with dreamy psychedelic riffs, but also, they have really good distorted breaks. The bass and the drums are having the leading role as they do what they have to do, by keeping the core of each song groovy. Finally, their fourth effort is amazing and the artwork kicks ass. Oh, it is an instrumental album...
