Scandinavia is the ideal region for dark music composers (as hell must be cold and not hot!), and that's what Altaar is doing. Hailing from Norway this 5 piece band created a great debut that contains 3 doom/psychedelic tracks (CD version) with amazing atmosphere without flirting with black metal at all, despite the bands origins. Altaar are known for their performances in complete darkness or with candles as lights in order to enhance the atmosphere of their music. Finally, despite its lengthy soundscape-ish tracks the album flows and its never enough for the listener...
